So I got a new fancy camera (Cannon 60D) and I have been sitting on my tookous all day and I though I gotta start using this thing today. Before LA build the big LA Zoo in Griffith Park there was a Griffith Park Zoo that existed from 1912-1966 it had 15 animals and was in the style of old zoos with big black iron bars that separated the animals from the people. The Zoo now sits as ruins and was turned into a picnic area 2 miles from the LA Zoo. So I decided to walk around and take some photos of this relic of days gone by, trying to imagine how it looked in its glory days. Was this were they kept the apes? Is this the bird enclosure? How did the animals feel in super small enclosures compared to our modern zoos? Flickr Set
